Sea Tow "RESCUE 2" is a 23' Dusky Commercial
Assistance Fast Response Towing & Salvage Vessel. She is a
deep vee, center console boat that gives a soft ride in rough
water and is very easy to work, thus making it a favorite among
the Sea Tow Captains.
"RESCUE 2" joined the fleet in 2000
and has become a great general purpose fast response towing vessel.
In 2003 the "RESCUE 2" underwent an
extensive overhaul and
upgrade. She was originally built and operated with a straight
454 cubic inch inboard engine. As such she was the only inboard
vessel operated by Sea Tow Boston. In order to increase fuel efficiency,
speed, maneuverability and interior room the inboard engine was
replaced with twin 135 hp Evinrude Ficht outboards on a stern
bracket. In 2006 Sea Tow Boston upgraded to twin Suzuki 150 hp
four stroke engines.
