Capt. Albert Vandermeer joined the Sea Tow Boston team in May of 2007 as the primary captain of our Sea Tow Salem vessel Rescue 3. Like all Sea Tow Captains, however, he is fully qualified to run all the vessels in the Sea Tow Boston fleet and does from time to time operate in the Boston and South Shore areas. Capt. Vandermeer comes with a lifetime of boating experience from all over the world. He grew up in the Netherlands where he worked as a sailing instructor during his High School and College years. He also worked as a deck hand on his uncle's 500 ton cargo barge. Albert came to the USA in 1976 and has lived in New Hampshire since 1985. He owns a 38 foot Irwin Sailboat, but the duties and responsibilities of a Sea Tow Captain's job do not leave him very much free time to enjoy sailing in the summer. Over the years Capt. Albert has built and rebuild several boats as a hobby .
